 Sat, 23rd Nov, 2019

The ISA AGM was held on Saturday 23rd November 2019 in The Bloomfield House Hotel, Belvedere, Mullingar, Co Westmeath. An important event for the development of Agricultural Show Societies in Ireland.

The SuperShow team was present at the event, to meet with all of the Irish Shows representatives and listen to their feedback on SuperShow system, and for other shows to learn more about the show management platform.

The event had the biggest turnout of an AGM in some time, with a packed out room, holding more than 200 attendees.

A number of monumental events took place over the course of the day, including the passing of the National Presidency from Mr. David Sheehan to Catherine Gallagher. David, a Limerick man, gave 2 years as National President of the ISA. Catherine, as National President, will now preside over meetings of the ISA board where policy matters are implemented and the day-to-day business of the Association is conducted. David was joined by his wife, Mary, at the event and on stage, for a presentation by Raymond Brady, host of the Midlands region, and Catherine Gallagher.

Karl Gilsenan was gifted with a special presentation on the night also, by Jim Harrison, Secretary of the ISA, on his retirement. Karl, an Oldcastle man, has served with the Irish Shows Association most of his life and is well known country wide.

Thomas Duffy, Macra President (2019-2021) spoke passionately about the growth of the agricultural show and encouraged the update from a younger demographic to shows.
